I always paint from life and I love it when drawing a plant I haven’t done before as I always discover something new and exciting that I had not noticed when just seeing the plant growing.
I am fascinated by the way plants grow, their joints and stalks are just as interesting as the flowers and leaves.
I find fruit, vegetables and fungi similarly enthralling.

My principal passion is with form. I love making organic pots, often quite large and with a reference to bird forms. Recently I have experimented with more surface decoration to complement the form and blend with the natural world.
My Studio is open by appointment. I show my work with other Ceramic Artists, at Red Steps, Whitway. I also show my work during West Berks North Hampshire Open Studios, and for 2024 I shall be showing my work at Westridge Studio May 4th, 5th, 6th May Sally Courage | Open Studios (open-studios.org.uk)
I am a member of Newbury Art Group and an accredited artist with the Open Studios.
